One of the more... colorful shops had caught Mel's interest. The very name of the place peaked her curiosity not to mention the burning need to discover as much about herself as she could. The Magic Box seemed to give off a supernatural vibe so naturally Mel wanted to check it out.
The first thing she noticed upon entering was the scent of ginger filling the air. There was a couple other scents lofting about but nothing that she could name. It was peculiar inside. Just to her left sat a row of jars containing what appeared to be eyeballs saturating in honey. That wasn't the most disturbing thing though. Petrified hamsters hung by the feet off the shelf behind the check out counter for example. Mel wasn't much to judge but the shop did give her the Willies.
Further exploration brought her to a table filled with books, runic tablets and candles. Mel picked up a pea-green candle and held it to her nose, immediately she cringed setting it carefully back in its place. Shouldn't candles smell attractive? She asked herself turning her attention to her targeted purpose, the books.
Mel wanted to find some literature on werewolves. She had read all she could via the Internet but sometimes you just couldn't beat a book. She figured that a establishment of this caliber would be able to provide her with new, truthful information. Her hand ran over the thick binding of an ancient looking book. The leather was faded black and chaffing in places. Mel opened it up and looked inside only to find an atrocious illustration of a slim covered demon gnawing on fingers.
