Ella grabbed her bag of brushes, a canvas, and her portable easel as quick as she could, stuffing it into her knapsack. She'd been waiting all day for sunset, to capture it's bliss along the water, but lost track of time and was now racing the sun. She tossed the knapsack over her shoulder, threw on her bike jacket, and just as she reached the door to exit, she realized, Footie. She raced back to the bunny and gave him a quick peck on the head while saying, "Catch you later, Hon.", over her shoulder as she dashed out.
Upon exiting her apartment complex, she hopped onto her orange moped, shoved on her helmet, revved up the engine, and zoomed off. She was on the main street nearest her place, which would send her straight to the docks; her destination. She glanced to her right every now and then to check where the sun resided. She caught sight of it through the pattern of buildings, with it's light show of shadow, un-shadow, shadow, etc.
She finally reached the bridge where she could catch full sight of her blinding target. She was ahead, and through the thrill she skidded off to the right, making her journey that much shorter. As she approached a worthy spot to sit, she came to a stop, lifted off her helmet, and gave a quick smirk at her victory. She'd won.
However, seeing as though the sun was some sore loser and wanted to get right back at her for her smug attitude, it seemed to almost quicken up and sink slowly yet fast enough under the horizon. Shocked and appalled at the sun's disappointing her, she sigh and murmured under her breath, "Jerk."
She sat down on the nearest bench while she watched the last layers of the sun dissipate. Some picture she'd captured.
